A worked example

The same cell in a 12-month climate lasts ~4.5 years and costs $142 a year: knowing your number turns a surprise $650 bill into a boring budget line.
Replace, or is it just scale?
Half of "dead" cells are actually scaled plates or chronically low salt. Before spending hundreds: test salt with a proper kit (not the unit's own reading — a drifting sensor is itself a symptom), inspect the plates for white crust, and clean per the manual if scaled.
